He finished the season with a .281 average, nine hits, one double and one RBI. Jake was 2-for-4, tying his career-high with his second two-hit game of the season, in Pacific's 11-1 loss to No. 2 Cal State Fullerton on Apr. 16. The junior scored two of the Tigers' nine runs on Mar. 11 against Portland. He was 1-for-3 with a walk in the Tigers' 10-9 loss. Jake came up with a 2-for-3 showing against Washington on Mar. 10. The two hits were a career-high for the junior as a Pacific Tiger. Ross' first at bat as a Pacific Tiger resulted in a game-winning RBI single as the Tigers won 6-5 over Saint Mary's on Feb. 11 in 11 innings.<b>Junior College: </b><p> Jake came to the Tigers after two seasons at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Wash. where he was a teammate of current Tiger, Will Brindza. In two seasons, Brindza and Ross led the Red Devils to a combined 76-20 record and into the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) semi-finals in 2004. Jake finished 2004 with a .387 average, including 12 doubles and 37 RBI. He scored 40 runs on the season and swiped 22 bases. Following the season, Ross was named the 2004 team MVP and earned a spot on the All-NWAACC First Team.<b>High School:</b><p> Ross graduated from Friday Harbor High School in Friday Harbor, Wash. As a member of the Wolverines, Jake was a four-time member of the All-Northwest A Team. Jake closed out his career at Friday Harbor by hitting .450 and stealing 28 bases as a senior.<b>Personal: </b><p> Jacob Ross is the son of Bobby and Julie Ross. Jake has four siblings, Justin (33), Shanna (27), Robby (25) and Jordan (23). In his second year at Pacific, Jake is a communication major.
